SmartGene.si
Project SmartGene.si is addressing gene therapy challenges from gene selection to the production and patient delivery with innovative, globally applicable solutions.
Specific goals of the SmartGene.si are:
- Plasmid DNA vectors containing therapeutic genes.
- Innovative cancer therapy approach using electrochemotherapy in combination with gene therapy.
- Novel electroporation device for plasmid DNA delivery to cells.
- Innovative plasmid DNA production process.
- “Smart” GMP facility.
- Translation research platform in the field of cancer treatment.
COBIK is using its expertise and IP to develop state-of-the-art manufacturing process for plasmid DNA that contains the therapeutic gene.
The project SmartGene.si is co-financed by the Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of Republic of Slovenia and European regional fund in amount of 1.998.414,50€.
